Role Description

The Deputy Chief People and Governance Officer is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting the strategic leadership of people operations and governance across Project Yananai.

This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, performance management frameworks, succession planning initiatives, and employee engagement strategies.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Advising leaders on employee relations matters
  • Ensuring fair and consistent HR practices
  • Aligning people processes with organisational values and goals

The role also involves partnering with senior leadership to:

  • Enhance operational effectiveness through data-driven people and governance decisions

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in succession planning and performance management to support leadership development and organisational continuity.
  • Candidates should possess experience in employee relations and HR policies to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant people practices.
  • Candidates should possess capabilities in employee engagement to foster an inclusive, mission-driven, and high-performing culture.
  • Relevant experience in strategic HR leadership, governance, or people operations within values-based or mission-driven organisations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data to inform people and governance strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
