Deputy Chief Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking deputy chief pharmacist to join ESNEFT in a strategic leadership role. You will play a pivotal part in leading, developing, and delivering high-quality pharmacy services, ensuring safe, effective, and economically responsible use of medicines across the organisation.

You will deputise for the Chief Pharmacist and provide leadership on medicines optimisation, commissioning, and financial management, working closely with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), NHS England, and internal stakeholders. This role is central to shaping the Trust’s medicines strategy, influencing prescribing practices, and supporting innovation in patient care while maintaining strong governance and compliance with national policies.

As a senior member of the pharmacy leadership team, you will drive collaboration across clinical, financial, and operational teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with strong strategic, financial, and clinical expertise to make a significant impact on patient outcomes and service development.

This role requires a proactive, collaborative leader with the ability to balance strategic priorities with operational delivery in a complex healthcare environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
