The Role
To support the production of dynamic and innovative content of the highest editorial and technical quality. This role will primarily work across ITV News on digital platforms, with a specific focus on the new ITV News App, as well as newsgathering, TV output, and streaming services, supporting Content Editors in delivering ITV News’ daily coverage.
This role is the driving force behind delivery of the best journalism at the heart of our newsroom, straddling the responsibilities between commissioning content and driving the news agenda. You will work with Content Editors to ensure the highest creative and editorial standards are met.
You will liaise closely with the news desks and key bureaus, editors and producers to ensure that our output reflects the best of our news gathering and analysis, commissioning content where appropriate.
You will secure maximum impact for ITV News’ material – selling it as effectively as possible – and understand how to re-purpose gathered material for digital platforms.
DCEs will become experts in all the tools used in the creation and curation of digital content at ITV News, with the ability to deliver on significant or breaking stories as and where needed. You should have a strong breadth of experience, understanding and knowledge of ITV News coverage, and how to optimise and leverage that content.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
