Deputy General Manager - Earn over £45,000

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy General Manager to lead our Food operation, working closely with the General Manager to deliver an outstanding food service experience. You'll take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the contract, ensuring exceptional operational standards, commercial performance, health and safety compliance, and an engaged, high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing people, and is committed to creating memorable food experiences while continually looking for ways to improve and innovate.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Food contract, ensuring consistently high standards of service.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing regular updates and action plans.
  • Inspire, coach, and develop your team to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
  • Promote a positive culture through recognition, engagement, and regular team briefings.
  • Champion food promotions, merchandising, displays, and the overall customer experience.
  • Ensure all food outlets are fully stocked, well-presented, and maintained to the expected standard.
  • Manage budgets, labor costs, food waste, and overall unit performance to achieve commercial targets.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and food safety, ensuring compliance with all company policies and legal requirements.
  • Ensure training, risk assessments, and health & safety records are kept up to date.
  • Investigate and report health & safety incidents, implementing improvements where required.
  • Work closely with chef teams to deliver healthy, nutritious, responsibly sourced menus that reflect current food trends.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Experience managing a busy food service, hospitality, or catering operation.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and measure performance.
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to influence and work effectively across different teams.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and food safety legislation and best practice.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and a willingness to embrace new tools and ways of working.
