About us

UCL is one of the world's leading universities, with more than 51,000 students, 18,000 staff and a total income exceeding £2bn. We are consistently ranked among the global top 10 institutions and are committed to delivering excellence in research, education, and innovation.

About the role

The Governance Team is responsible for servicing the University's principal committees.

As Deputy Head of Executive Governance, you will support the Head of Governance and the University Secretary in ensuring that the University observes best governance practice and maintains highly effective committee processes and records. You will be responsible for supporting key committees appropriate to the seniority of the post, including the University Management Committee (UMC) in the first instance, although this may change over time. You will also have line-management responsibilities within the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly and dynamic team with a commitment to promoting excellence in governance practices and an ethos of continuous improvement. It is also a chance to join a key department in one of the world's top universities, providing essential support to an organisation which is leading the way in research and teaching.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
