Heidelberg Materials seeks an experienced and ambitious Deputy Head of Optimisation to drive our International Business Service Centre’s (BSC) transformation. This high-impact leadership role requires a process optimisation specialist who can deliver measurable results through standardisation, automation, and end-to-end business process improvement.
Working globally, you will:
- Lead process optimisation and transformation.
- Shape our automation roadmap and synergy programmes.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, Global Process Owners, and Digital teams to enhance operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Process Optimisation & Transformation
- Redesign and optimise end-to-end business processes across multiple countries and systems.
- Implement automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver cost efficiencies and measurable business benefits.
- Eliminate process variants and align operations with global standards, supporting Heidelberg Materials’ circular economy and sustainability goals.
- Act as the chief advisor on process transformation strategies.

2. Serve as the Business Systems Expert
- Provide technical leadership as the SME for BSC business systems.
- Support system implementations, transitions, and capability development through training and expert guidance.
- Leverage deep end-to-end process knowledge to enhance business performance and decision-making.
3. Influence Strategic Projects
- Represent the BSC in Heidelberg Materials communities, including Digital and Transformation teams.
- Partner with Steering Committees, senior leaders, and project teams to ensure alignment with group standards.
- Monitor and drive project delivery, ensuring adherence to milestones, benefits, and timelines.
4. Lead, Develop & Inspire Teams
- Lead a team of Transformation Analysts and Senior Transformation Analysts.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent.
- Build an agile, adaptable team to meet evolving business demands.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a strategic transformation leader who balances big-picture vision with operational execution. Ideal candidates will bring:
- Extensive experience in business transformation, process optimisation, shared services, or business services.
- Deep knowledge of end-to-end business processes and enterprise systems.
- Proven ability to lead automation, standardisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in cross-functional and international projects with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, along with excellent communication.
- Proven people leadership including coaching, mentoring, and team development.
- A data-driven mindset with a focus on measurable business outcomes.
