Help shape the future of safeguarding across one of England's largest school trusts.
Every child deserves to feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
At Lift Schools, safeguarding isn't simply a statutory responsibility, it's at the heart of everything we do. That's why we're looking for an experienced Deputy Head of Safeguarding to join our national safeguarding team and help strengthen safeguarding practice across our network of 59 schools, educating more than 35,000 children and young people.
This is a rare opportunity to influence safeguarding at scale. Working alongside our Head of Safeguarding, Regional Education Directors, Principals and Designated Safeguarding Leads, you'll provide professional support and constructive challenge that helps ensure every school delivers the very highest standards of safeguarding.
If you're passionate about protecting children and want your expertise to make a difference far beyond a single setting, we'd love to hear from you.
Why this role matters
Strong safeguarding practice changes lives.
As Deputy Head of Safeguarding, you'll help shape the culture, systems and practice that keep thousands of children safe every day. You'll work alongside school leaders to strengthen safeguarding practice, build professional capability, identify emerging risks and ensure every school is confident, compliant and fully prepared for inspection.
This role is about working alongside school leaders to strengthen safeguarding practice. You'll build trusted relationships, provide expert advice, coach colleagues through complex situations and help create a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
