The Fairkytes family are recruiting!
42 Fairkytes is a lively residential care home in Essex, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex care needs to live a life they love as independently as possible.
About The Role
As a Deputy Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home. This includes:
- Ensuring the needs of the service users are met.
- Managing the staff team.
- Monitoring the quality of care and support.
- Ensuring high standards of professional practice.
- Achieving compliance with external regulatory standards.
Reporting to the Registered Manager, your responsibilities include:
- Supporting specialist and high-quality care and support for service users.
- Assisting in the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of individual care plans.
- Ensuring policies, procedures, systems, and workplace practices are fully implemented and consistently applied.
You will also be accountable for:
- Motivating and empowering your team, while encouraging their development.
- Acting as an inspiring role model—leading by example, imparting knowledge, and advocating best practices.
- Promoting innovative approaches that enable individuals to make choices, develop life skills, and live to the fullest.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager and staff to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
- Demonsrate written communication skills for record-keeping.
- Adopt a warm, person-centred, and affirmative approach when working with those you support.
- Maintain compassion and professionalism, even during difficult situations.
- Engage with clinical professionals as needed.
- Embrace new ideas and modern practices.
- Lead effectively and delegate responsibilities during shifts.
- Conduct regular staff supervisions.
- Set a positive example in all areas of daily work.
- Provide assistance during crises, including crisis management for behaviours.

Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in IT (familiarity with Nourish and CamaScope would be an advantage).
About You
- Motivation & Commitment: Highly committed, flexible, and ready to step into this crucial role.
- Qualifications: Ideally holding or working towards a NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Levels 3 or 5), or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Desirable experience working with individuals who have communication difficulties.
- Legal Knowledge: An understanding of:
- CQC Regulations & Standards
- Mental Capacity Act
- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
