Deputy Manager – Children's Home

📍 Location: Leicester
💰 Salary: £40,000 per annum + performance-related bonuses
📅 Hours: Full-time (includes sleep-in duties and management on-call cover)
📝 Contract: Permanent


Could you lead, inspire, and support a team to deliver outstanding care?

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and child-centred Deputy Manager to join the leadership team at our new children's home in Leicester.

This is a pivotal role where you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring it operates in full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strong leadership, guidance, and supervision to the care team.
  • Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.
  • Ensuring the home meets all regulatory and Ofsted requirements, safeguarding procedures, and quality standards.
  • Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, and ensuring a child-centred approach.
  • Contributing to recruitment, induction, performance management, and staff development.
  • Leading audits, quality assurance activities, and supporting inspection preparation.
  • Working in partnership with placing authorities, social workers, and other professionals.

About you:

  • Substantial experience in a children's residential setting, with a proven track record in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
  • Experience in care planning, safeguarding, and risk management.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards) is required.
  • A full UK driving licence.
