Deputy Manager – Client’s Home Care Service in Wigan

About the Role

At Beluga Rox, we’re seeking a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading our client’s home care service based in Wigan. Our client is a Top 20-rated home care group with six consecutive years of recognition, delivering exceptional care to enrich independence within the local community.

As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital part in:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager
  • Ensuring smooth service delivery daily
  • Maintaining compliance with health and social care standards

Responsibilities

Business and Administrative Support

  • Assist in managing business controls to maintain efficient operations
  • Follow the business model to ensure seamless day-to-day service delivery

Recruitment & Compliance

  • Support the recruitment of care workers, ensuring compliance with:
    • Application forms
    • DBS checks
    • Reference checks

Marketing & Customer Engagement

  • Oversee communication strategies to promote branch services
  • Ensure marketing efforts attract new interest from:
    • Potential and existing customers
    • Family members, advocates, and professionals

Market Development & Growth

  • Assess opportunities for expanding services including:
    • Home care
    • Supported living
    • Live-in care
    • Complex care
    • Complex Mental Health support

Operational & Performance Management

  • Handle clerical duties for branch administration, including:
    • Managing on-call rosters
    • Monitor workforce performance
    • Evaluate and implement newly recruited staff inductions
  • Oversee, create, and review care plans for new and existing clients

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in a similar healthcare/social care environment
  • Relevant experience in a management role within this sector
  • Qualification in Health and Social Care Leadership at Level 3 or above (With proven ability to lead teams effectively)
  • Full driving license & access to a vehicle
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships
  • Resilience & confidence when facing challenging situations
