Deputy Nursery Manager
Location: Sunderland, Banana Moon Day Nurseries
Banana Moon Day Nurseries is a leading provider of high-quality childcare and early years education. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced deputy nursery manager to join our team in Sunderland, delivering exceptional care and education to children.
About the Role
As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will support the nursery manager in running our setting seamlessly, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children while implementing the curriculum and maintaining operational quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the nursery manager in implementing and maintaining policies and procedures
- Support and supervise nursery staff, providing guidance and training
- Ensure the nursery complies with regulatory requirements and health and safety guidelines
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff, promoting inclusivity and respect
- Assist in planning and organising age-appropriate activities and learning experiences
- Contribute to continuous improvement in the nursery’s quality of care and education

Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent
- At least two years’ experience in a senior rôle within an early years setting
- Strong understanding of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework and statutory regulations
- Experience in leading and motivating teams within nurseries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- DBS clearance
- Relevant safeguarding training
