Deputy Manager
Deputy Manager – Join Our Growing Business

About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Store Manager to:
- Maximise store profits
- Lead operational excellence
- Deliver seamless service
- Drive success across all store functions
Key Responsibilities
Maximise Profit
- Actively contribute to overall store performance by reviewing sales, operations, and digital metrics weekly to identify growth opportunities.
- Focus on stock availability and cost control through well-defined processes.
- Cultivate a "sell a £, save a £" mindset to boost sales and profitability.
- Ensure all agreed KPIs are met.
Engage, Develop & Retain Great People
- Support the Store Manager in Talking Shop initiatives.
- Foster open communication and respect to enhance team engagement.
- Promote an inclusive culture where every team member can thrive.
- Proactively develop the team through training, coaching, and upskilling.
- Manage performance effectively using continuous feedback.

Ensure Best Practices Are Followed
- Conduct daily store walks to maintain high customer-facing standards.
- Role-model exemplary service, in-store and at the doorstep.
- Enforce cash handling and security policies.
- Implement "One Best Way" digital processes for operational excellence.
- Maintain legal compliance and health & safety standards rigorously.
Leadership & Accountability
- Set the tone for team performance through actionable leadership.
- Be approachable, respectful, and solution-focused for both customers and colleagues.
- Take full ownership of store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Communicate effectively, listening to and facilitating team growth.
- Planning and prioritisation to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Coach and delegate with clarity, empowering the team to excel.

- Proven experience in retail management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

- Flexibility to support multi-store operations as needed
