Deputy Manager (Non-Clinical) – Care Home Role

Location: Bishopton, Renfrewshire Residents: 36 (Residential, Dementia & Respite care)

** contract details**

  • Salary: £17.68 per hour
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible shifts including weekends; may include 5-day shifts over 7 or 4×10-hour shifts)
  • Shift Pattern: One weekend on, one weekend off (both day and night shifts may be required)
  • Requirements: Applicants must be fully flexible
  • Benefits:
    • Paid PVG check

    • 5.6 weeks’ annual leave (based on full-time contract)

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and service delivery at our care home.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Guiding the overall running of the home in partnership with the Home Manager
  • Overseeing care delivery, staff performance, and daily operations to ensure efficiency and safety
  • Supporting audits, compliance, and continuous improvement to meet regulatory standards
  • Providing strong leadership to the care team, mentoring staff, and promoting a positive, accountable culture
  • Acting as Deputy to the Home Manager, stepping into operational responsibility as needed

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Guaranteeing the home runs efficiently, safely, and within regulatory guidelines
    • Managing teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service
  • Care & Team Support:
    • Mentoring staff to develop a supportive and skilled workforce
    • Promoting a resident-focused, inclusive culture
  • Compliance & Audits:
    • Supporting audit processes to ensure best practice compliance
    • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What We Are Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • SVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or currently working towards it)
  • Proven experience in a senior care or leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience in audits, compliance, and service standards
  • Medication administration and auditing experience
  • Ability to manage operations, prioritise tasks, and lead team performance
  • Must be professional, organised, and resident-focused
