Location: Easily commutable from Stockport, Manchester, and surrounding areas
About the Role
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 + Outstanding Bonus Package
Are you an experienced Children’s Home Deputy Manager seeking a challenging opportunity to step up and establish a brand-new residential service from scratch? We are recruiting a passionate, child-focused Registered Manager to oversee the registration, launch, and ongoing development of a 4-bed children’s residential home.

About the Service
Our new children’s home is designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for young people with diverse needs, particularly:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
- Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
- Moderate and Severe Learning Disabilities
- Mild Physical Disabilities

The Opportunity
This is far more than just a Registered Manager role—you will become the founding leader of a new service, working with:

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the home through Ofsted registration and opening
- Develop child-centred culture for outstanding outcomes
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing staff team
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and quality standards
- Design policies, procedures, and systems
- Strengthen relationships with local authorities, families, and professionals
- Drive service performance, occupancy, and quality
- Collaborate on future service expansion
- Mentor future leadership talent

About You
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate:
✅ Experience as a Deputy Manager in an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential service
✅ A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it)
✅ A deep understanding of children’s home regulations and Ofsted requirements
✅ A hands-on, visible leadership style—leading by example
✅ Commitment to exceptional outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
✅ Exceptional recruitment, team development, and emotional intelligence
✅ Proactive, solution-focused mindset ✅ Commercial awareness alongside strong problem-solving skills
✅ Exceptional communication and relationship-building
