An Opportunity for an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager / Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager / Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker to join a residential childcare provider supporting children and young people through safe, nurturing homes with personalised care to help them achieve positive outcomes and independence.

As an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager / Team Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high-quality care, safeguarding standards and effective staff support.

This role offers a salary of GBP 34,500 and benefits. Senior Support Workers or Team Leaders looking to progress into an Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager role will also be considered.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Assist the Registered Manager with the home's Statement of Purpose and operational standards.
  • Act as deputy in the Registered Manager's absence, providing leadership and guidance to the care team.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for children and young people.
  • Ensure care plans, risk assessments and documentation are maintained in line with statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and review of personalised care plans based on young people's needs and wishes.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, health professionals, families and external agencies.
  • Maintain a strong safeguarding culture and ensure child protection procedures are followed.
  • Guide staff through supervision, training, development and professional growth.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, induction and retention activities.
  • Coordinate shift planning, staffing levels and effective oversight of the home.
  • Promote young people's wellbeing and implement Positive Behaviour Plans.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previously worked as an Assistant Manager, Children's Home Deputy Manager, Deputy Manager, Assistant Care Manager, Assistant Home Manager, Deputy Care Manager, Deputy Home Manager, Children's Residential Team Leader, Team Leader, Senior Residential Support Worker, Senior Support Worker or in a similar role.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1 year of experience working within a children's residential home or children's services environment.
  • Experience supervising or supporting a team within a children's residential care setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Experience supporting staff teams and contributing to effective care delivery.
  • Understanding of children's home regulations, care standards and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience or understanding of trauma-informed care would be beneficial.
  • IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft applications.
  • Full UK driving licence.
