Deputy Manager – Nursing Home
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and ambitious Deputy Manager to join a well-established nursing home in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role is ideal for a dedicated care professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and develop towards a future Home Manager position.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in nursing home management who has excellent knowledge of compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring residents receive outstanding standards of care while maintaining a safe, effective, and continuously improving environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has genuine ambition to grow within an organisation and progress into a Home Manager role when the right opportunity becomes available. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Home Manager with the overall management and performance of the nursing home.
- Maintain excellent compliance standards in line with CQC requirements and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead and support quality audits, governance processes, action plans, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure care documentation, assessments, and records are accurate and maintained to a high standard.
- Support the recruitment, training, supervision, and development of the care team.
- Promote a positive culture focused on person-centred care, dignity, and resident wellbeing.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and external healthcare professionals.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance service quality.
- Act as a strong role model, demonstrating excellent leadership and professional standards.
About You:
- Experienced Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, Senior Nurse, or Registered Manager within a nursing home or complex care setting.
- Strong understanding of CQC compliance, inspections, audits, and quality improvement.
- Proven ability to lead teams and maintain high standards of care delivery.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Passionate about providing exceptional care and improving outcomes for residents.
- Ambitious, motivated, and looking for a long-term career opportunity with progression potential.
- Genuine desire to develop towards a future Home Manager position.
