Deputy Nursery Manager (Permanent Full-Time Role)

Location: Brondesbury Fitness & Wellbeing Club Contract: Permanent | Full Time (40 hours per week) Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Benefits: Extensive fitness, health, and wellbeing perks


Our Nuffy Bear Day Nursery, based within Nuffield Health’s Brondesbury Fitness & Wellbeing Club, is now seeking a qualified Deputy Nursery Manager to support our Ofsted-registered nursery. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, offering children unique initiatives—from swimming to mindfulness—focusing on wellbeing and holistic development.

About the Role

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining excellence, ensuring the highest standards of care, and promoting the health, education, and growth of the children in our care. This position is perfectly suited for someone passionate about early childhood development and committed to our Nuffy Bear ethos.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management
    • Support the Nursery Manager when they are absent.
    • Provide Deputy-level oversight to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.

  • Childcare & Education

    • Ensure high standards of care and education in alignment with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
    • Oversee planning, assessments, and childcare policy implementation, including safeguarding legislation and updates.
    • Promote the health and well-being of all children in our nursery.
  • Safeguarding & Compliance

    • Implement safeguarding policies and procedures diligently.
    • Maintain robust record-keeping and accountability under childcare legislation.
  • Communication & Collaboration

    • Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external partners, ensuring transparency.
    • Collaborate closely with the Nursery Manager on strategic and day-to-day operational matters.
  • Nursery Excellence

    • Drive and ensure exceptional quality standards, reflecting our Nuffy Bear ethos.
    • Encourage a positive, nurturing environment that enhances learning and Play.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications from any of the following are essential:

  • NNEB Certificate
  • Level 3 NVQ in Early Years
  • BTEC (National Diploma in Early Years)
  • BA (Hons) in Early Years Education or equivalent

Experience and persons skills will be considered in alignment with expectations.
