Alexander House Nursery is an independent, family-owned nursery group with settings in Wimbledon, Wandsworth, and Battersea. As we celebrate five years of nurturing young children, we remain committed to providing exceptional early years education in warm, inspiring environments where children, families, and staff thrive.

We believe that great nurseries are built by great people. That’s why we invest heavily in our team, creating a supportive culture where professional development is encouraged, achievements are recognised, and every individual is valued.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join our Wimbledon team.

Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in leading the nursery, inspiring the team, and maintaining the highest standards of care and education. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious early years professional who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey or further develop their management experience within a growing organisation.

You will help shape a positive, nurturing environment where children flourish, families feel supported, and staff are empowered to deliver outstanding practice every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the effective day-to-day leadership and operation of the nursery
  • Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of early years professionals
  • Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare, and child protection are maintained at all times
  • Champion outstanding teaching and learning through the EYFS framework
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive
  • Build strong and trusting partnerships with parents and carers
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
  • Support staff supervision, coaching, training, and professional development
  • Contribute to occupancy growth, admissions processes, and family engagement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders to continuously improve nursery practice and outcomes
  • Foster a positive team culture through staff wellbeing initiatives, celebrations, social events, and community activities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
