Role Details

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Deputy Practice Manager to join our GP Practice in delivering high-quality care to our patients. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking healthcare organisation while working in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Main Duties

The Deputy Practice Manager is an important part of the senior practice management team, responsible for supporting the Practice Manager in managing and co-ordinating all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and financial performance, to ensure the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.

You will be delegated with the responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the surgery, ensuring the effective processing of all administrative work and appropriate liaison with the reception and administration team while leading the attainment of Local and National KPI’s.

Responsibility

  • Supporting the Practice Manager with HR including recruitment, set up of new staff and removal of leavers, training and day to day management.
  • Ensure rapid response to incoming telephone calls and appropriate action is taken
  • Developing, and supervising the appointment systems ensuring that they work well for patients and clinicians.
  • Ensure the effective supervision of the reception team and co-ordinate support services for other team members.
  • Identify training needs of reception staff and provide support in the achievement of the objectives of their personal development review.
  • Ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Liaising with local health organizations such as clinical commissioning groups.
  • Promote the development and maintenance of a quality learning environment throughout the practice.
