DEPUTY PREMISES MANAGER
Beaulieu Park School | Chelmsford Learning Partnership (CLP)
- Salary: Scale 6 (£29,540 - £31,537)
- Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
- Location: Beaulieu Park School, Chelmsford
- Contract: Permanent

Be the Driving Force Behind an Outstanding School Environment
Beaulieu Park School is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organised Deputy Premises Manager to support the operational management of our growing and vibrant school site.
This is far more than a maintenance role. You'll play a key leadership part in ensuring our buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, compliant, welcoming and ready to support exceptional teaching and learning every day. Working closely with the Premises Manager, you'll lead caretaking operations, coordinate maintenance activities and help create an environment where students and staff can thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervising and supporting the caretaking team
- Coordinating day-to-day site operations, rotas and task allocation
- Ensuring the school remains safe, secure and fully operational
- Managing routine inspections, health & safety checks and compliance records
- Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance works
- Supervising contractors and ensuring safe systems of work
- Supporting school lettings and community use of facilities
- Acting as Deputy to the Premises Manager when required
- Responding to operational challenges and helping keep the school running smoothly every day
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Experience in a premises, facilities, caretaking or site management role
- Experience supervising or line-managing staff
- Strong understanding of health & safety and safe working practices
- Experience carrying out or overseeing compliance and site safety checks
- Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to undertake basic maintenance and repairs, including practical maintenance tasks
- A commitment to safeguarding and site security within a school environment

Essential Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) or willingness to achieve
- First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain
- Relevant premises, facilities or maintenance training and experience

Additional Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
- Be willing to work flexible shift patterns, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Be able to work across CLP sites where required
- Be physically able to undertake indoor and outdoor site duties
