City St George’s is embarking on an ambitious new phase in the development of intercalated education for medical students, creating a distinctive, future-facing portfolio of interdisciplinary iBSc programmes that brings together the strengths of medicine, science, technology, business, management and economics. Working closely with the iBSc Programme Director and the MBBS leadership team, the Deputy Programme Director will play a central role in developing and delivering innovative new iBSc pathways – from curriculum design through academic approval to implementation. You will be based in the Division of Medical Education within the Department of Medicine

Your new roles responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the iBSc Programme Director, MBBS leadership team and senior colleagues across the University to develop and deliver innovative new iBSc pathways
  • Support the development of programmes spanning artificial intelligence, digital health, coding and data science; business, management, leadership and innovation; economics, health economics and economic evaluation; and applied interdisciplinary, project-based learning
  • Translate emerging concepts into coherent, high-quality programmes, taking them through curriculum design, academic approval and implementation
  • Contribute to the strategic development and academic governance of the wider iBSc portfolio
  • Support quality assurance processes across the iBSc portfolio
  • Lead student engagement activity and ensure student voice informs programme development
  • Contribute to the promotion and external profile of the iBSc portfolio
  • Work across institutional boundaries and Schools to build new academic partnerships
  • Help position City St George’s as a sector leader in innovative and interdisciplinary intercalated degrees

To be successful in your application you will be either an Academic or Clinical Academic with the vision, credibility and collaborative approach to turn ambitious ideas into successful educational programmes. You will bring experience of educational leadership, curriculum development and academic quality processes, be able to navigate complex institutional structures, and build productive relationships across Schools, disciplines and professional boundaries. Alongside this you will be strategically minded, highly organised, passionate about innovation and interdisciplinary learning, and committed to inclusive education.

Alongside the above you will also have experience of intercalated education, cross-School collaboration or the development of new academic programme which would be particularly valuable.
