Job Description Summary

GE’s Power Conversion & Storage business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems critical to customers’ power and energy needs for high-performance applications. They collaborate with major energy, maritime, and industrial organizations, driving energy efficiency and decarbonization through motors, drives, and control technologies.

Acting on the UK’s most complex and critical projects, GE Vernova is seeking a Deputy Security Controller to fortify security compliance and infrastructure.


Job Description

Help shape the future of national security compliance.

This role involves supporting UK Government-related security matters under the leadership of the UK Security Controller, offering a dynamic opportunity for seasoned security professionals to contribute in a cutting-edge, forward-thinking organization.


Your Responsibilities

As the Deputy Security Controller, you will:

  • Support and deputise for the UK Security Controller on all UK Government-related security matters.
  • Lead and advise internal teams on personnel, physical, and information security compliance.
  • Oversee secure handling, storage, and auditing of classified documentation, ensuring alignment with the UK Security Policy Framework.
  • Manage and process BPSS (Basic Personal Security Standard) and NSV (Non-Standard Vetting) security clearances.
  • Build strong working relationships with Government agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal audits, investigations, and supplier compliance checks.
  • Develop and maintain security education and awareness programs.
  • Keep policies and processes current with changing legislation and Government guidance.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must bring:

  • Experience in a professional security role within a high-compliance, government, or defence environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Government Agency security standards (SPF, JSP, IPSA).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with sound problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure while managing sensitive confidential matters discreetly.
  • Sole British Nationality and eligibility for a SC (Security Check) security clearance.
