Deputy Security Controller – Power Conversion & Storage
GE’s Power Conversion & Storage business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems critical to customers’ power and energy needs—included high-performance applications, maritime, and industrial sectors. We support the global shift towards energy efficiency and decarbonization, leveraging specialist motors, drives, and control technologies.
At Power Conversion & Storage, we lead some of the UK’s most complex and critical projects, and we’re now looking for a Dedicated Deputy Security Controller to enhance our security compliance and governance.
About the Role
Help shape national security compliance and support UK Government security standards as the Deputy Security Controller. Reporting directly to the UK Security Controller, you will ensure strict adherence to protection standards across people, data, and operations, aligning with Government Agency requirements.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced security professional to apply their expertise in a dynamic, mission-driven organisation committed to impactful, high-stakes work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and deputise for the UK Security Controller on all Government-related security matters
- Lead/advise internal teams on compliance with personnel, physical, and information security policies
- Oversee the secure handling, storage, and auditing of classified documentation, ensuring alignment with UK Security Policy Framework
- Manage and process BPSS (Basic Personnel Security Standard) and NSV (National Security Vetting) clearances
- Build relationships with Government agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders to maintain robust security processes
- Conduct internal audits, investigations, and supplier compliance checks
- Develop and maintain security education and awareness programmes
- Ensure policies and processes remain current with evolving legislative and Government guidance

What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a professional security role within a high-compliance environment (e.g., Government, defence, or classified organisations)
- In-depth knowledge of UK Government security standards, including SPF, JISPOC, and IPSA
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (ability to liaise with technical and non-technical teams)
- Proactive and problem-solving mindset—capable of adapting to dynamic security challenges
- Decoration with discretion—familiarity with handling sensitive/confidential matters under pressure
- Eligibility and nationality requirements:
- Sole British Nationality
- SC (Security Check) clearance eligibility or pending (must meet Government vetting standards)
