An exciting opportunity has arisen within the outpatient department
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic team player to take up the role of Deputy Sister.
This role is in our Main outpatients department at Poole. Outpatients is a busy department seeing patients of all ages and look after many different specialities.
Outpatients is a large part of the patient pathway into the hospital, whether it is their first appointment, a follow up appointment or for a minor procedure. Our nursing team is there to support them throughout.
If you have excellent communication skills and really care about supporting patients within a clinic setting we have a brilliant opportunity within our friendly outpatients team.
Informal visits recommended.

Responsibilities
To assist the Outpatient department Sister and Matron in providing an efficient, cost effective and quality service, ensure best practice in accordance with trust policies and procedures.

- To take responsibility of the Outpatient department in the absence of the Sister or as and when required.
- Work autonomously undertaking holistic assessment examination in order to implement management plans for patients in speciality nurse led clinics.
- To assist in the management and organisation of the Outpatient departments.
- To assist in the future development of the outpatient department
- Lead and Co-ordinate a team to ensure the delivery of effective nursing care to patients and their families reflecting the UHD Values.
- Participate in the supervision, assessment and development of staff and students through performance review, clinical supervision and teaching in a variety of settings and act as a resource for education and development within the service
- To act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
- Use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare to patients attending the Outpatient department and lead on the development of new and current Outpatient Nurse led services and clinics
