Deputy Sister Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the outpatient department, we are looking for a motivated and dynamic team player to take up the role of Deputy Sister.

This role is in our Main outpatients department at Poole. Outpatients is a busy department seeing patients of all ages and look after many different specialities.

Outpatients is a large part of the patient pathway into the hospital, whether it is their first appointment, a follow up appointment or for a minor procedure. Our nursing team is there to support them throughout.

If you have excellent communication skills and really care about supporting patients within a clinic setting we have a brilliant opportunity within our friendly outpatients team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Outpatient department Sister and Matron in providing an efficient, cost effective and quality service, ensuring best practice in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
• Take responsibility of the Outpatient department in the absence of the Sister or as and when required.
• Work autonomously undertaking holistic assessment examination in order to implement management plans for patients in speciality nurse led clinics.
• Assist in the management and organisation of the Outpatient departments.
• Assist in the future development of the outpatient department.
• Lead and Coordinate a team to ensure the delivery of effective nursing care to patients and their families reflecting the UHD Values.
• Participate in the supervision, assessment and development of staff and students through performance review, clinical supervision and teaching in a variety of settings and act as a resource for education and development within the service.
• Act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
• Use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare to patients attending the Outpatient department and lead on the development of new and current Outpatient Nurse led services and clinics.
