Deputy Store Manager – B&M Retail

Love retail? Thrive in a fast-paced environment? Ready to step up and support leading a high-performing store?

Join B&M as a Deputy Store Manager and play a key role in driving performance, developing people, and ensuring our store operates at its best.

About the Role

This is an initial designate role, primarily covering Nottingham, with potential to lead across several stores in the area. Flexibility to travel within this region is essential.

As a hands-on leadership role, you’ll support the Store Manager, take ownership on the shop floor, and step in to lead when required. Flexibility across days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in driving sales, performance, and store standards
  • Own the shop floor, leading by example daily
  • Step in and run the store if the Store Manager is unavailable
  • Lead, coach, and motivate your team to deliver their best
  • Drive KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
