Deputy Store Manager at Lidl

Salary & Benefits £38,000 – £46,000 per annum • 30–35 days’ holiday (pro rata) • 10% in-store discount • Competitive pension scheme

About the Role

Everyone at Lidl brings something unique – but we all share a strong belief in resilience, leadership, and trust.

As Deputy Store Manager, you’ll be the steady, supporting force behind operations. You’ll lead by example, manage cash flow and stock integrity while boosting team morale and customer service. When the Store Manager is away, you’ll take command, using your skills to drive efficiency, support staff, and uphold Lidl’s values.

You’ll help create an environment where colleagues thrive, while enjoying significant responsibilities—and earning a salary under a fair equal-pay structure. Career growth is part of our DNA, so you’ll have every opportunity to develop and succeed.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the standard – Inspire your team and customers through exemplary leadership
  • Run the store independently – Take full charge when the Store Manager is unavailable
  • Lead and nurture your team – Use Lidl’s core values to empower those around you
  • Ensure operational excellence –
    • Oversee deliveries, till operations, and stock management
    • Monitor KPIs and compliance
    • Diligently adhere to Health & Safety policies
  • Provide exceptional service – Greet every customer warmly, offering assistance with any query

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
