Deputy Store Manager
Deputy Store Manager – Join Our Leadership Team at Starbucks

We’re seeking experienced leaders to join the Starbucks team as Deputy Store Managers—help shape the future of our brand alongside our store managers and partners. Your vision and passion will be central to what we do.
About the Role
As a Deputy Store Manager, you’ll partner with the store manager to co-lead operations, drive commercial performance, and build a high-performing team. You’ll take ownership of key business areas—including training, compliance, and people management—and step into full operational leadership when required.
This is a dynamic role. No two days are the same, and you’ll be setting the standard for service, passion and success every shift.
A typical day could involve:
- Co-leading store teams to meet financial targets, customer satisfaction scores, and operational excellence frameworks
- Taking responsibility for business critical functions such as:
- Compliance (health & safety, food safety, security)
- Labour management
- Local marketing & promotions
- Partner training development (ensuring training completion & ongoing success)
- Partnering with leadership to establish clear roles, objectives and performance accountability
- Forecasting staffing needs and driving recruitment to meet store capacity and growth targets
- Leading performance growth when acting in-manager role (full accountability for staff, customer experience and operational execution)
- Closing gaps through Shop Action Plans & monitoring KPIs & data trends
- Cost control and sustainability initiatives including waste reduction planning
Working hours will include varied shifts—morning, evening, weekends, nights and holidays—reflecting our 24/7 customer-focused store environment.

You’ll bring focus, energy and strategy to your store by:

- Translating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) into actionable commercial priorities
- Balancing people, operational and financial targets to deliver strong bottom-line results
- Coaching and developing partners through mentorship and training, seeing partnership as a key driver for business success
- Ensuring brand consistency and compliance through rigorous standards auditing and due diligence
- Representing our business locally and regionally, building strategic partnerships
- Acting responsibly with financial and commercial accountability
- Pioneering continuous improvement programs across the business
Requirements & Ideal Profile
We’re looking for dynamic retail/hospitality leaders with:
- Proven team leadership experience in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
- Sound operational and commercial acumen—able to leverage metrics to drive insights and performance
- Strong interpersonal skills—knowing how to balance wellbeing, efficiency and productivity
- Hands-on potential—prepared to roll up your sleeves and lead with hands-on customer service
- Passion for service excellence—passionate about delivering the Starbucks experience for customers
- Growth mindset—comfortable taking accountability and responsibility to level-up your leadership development
