At Siemens Mobility, we are not just imagining the future of transportation—we are building it. Our team of experts is dedicated to creating smart, efficient, and sustainable mobility solutions that improve the daily lives of millions of passengers. We are looking for passionate professionals who are eager to innovate and push the boundaries of what's possible. If you are ready to be part of a transformative journey, come and join us.

We are now recruiting a Deputy Supervisor to support the leadership of a skilled team of rolling stock technicians at our Bedford Cauldwell Traincare Depot. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing the maintenance plan, ensuring the reliability and operational readiness of the Class 360/1 Desiro fleet for passenger services.

In this role, you’ll report directly to the Supervisor/Production Manager and lead a dedicated team in meeting and exceeding the daily Train Service Agreement. You will take full ownership of delivering quality work in a safe, efficient manner, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. With a focus on driving productivity and implementing process improvements, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, you will support the continuous growth and development of your team, cultivating a work environment that prioritizes both performance and collaboration.

This is a shift-based (12 hour) role with a rotating schedule of days, nights, and weekends. To meet the legal requirements set out in the Working Time Regulations, ROGS Regulations, and other Railway Group Standards, applicants must live within a one-hour commute of the Bedford depot.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
