Derivatives Legal Counsel - Temporary Role
Our client, a global trading firm, is looking for a Derivatives Legal Counsel to join their London office on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with external counsel to negotiate the firm’s trading documentation with counterparties, including:
- ISDAs, CSAs, MRAs, GMRAs, GMSLAs, and similar master agreements
- Prime brokerage agreements
- ETD and OTC clearing agreements
- Digital asset trading agreements
- Advise on the impact of financial regulation for the firm’s trading and other business activities (e.g. EU/UK EMIR, MiFID II, etc.) and work on documentation aspects related to forthcoming regulatory changes.
- Stay updated with regulatory developments via close contacts with advisers, industry bodies, contacts, and working groups.
- Work on ad hoc projects within the legal department relating to the derivatives function.

Experience Requirements
- 5+ PQE in a top tier derivatives practice of either a UK or US firm
- Relevant experience across fixed income, interest rates, equities, bonds including OTC and cash products
- Good knowledge of regulation applicable to financial markets and investment managers
- Excellent attention to detail
- Takes initiative and looks to improve processes
