Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Dermatology (MOPs / 2WW / NHS)

SAH Diagnostics, winners of the HSJ Gold Award for “The Most Effective Contribution to Improving Cancer Outcomes”, are seeking experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to support NHS Dermatology services across the UK.

We deliver high-quality Dermatology services including Two Week Wait (2WW) and Minor Operations (MOPs) pathways and currently work with over 25 NHS Trusts nationwide. This role offers flexible weekday and weekend sessions, competitive locum rates, and opportunities to work across multiple UK locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Dermatology MOPs safely and efficiently in line with scope of practice
  • Perform skin biopsies, curettage & cautery, excisions, and simple closures where competent
  • Undertake patient assessments, consent, and clinical decision-making
  • Maintain excellent clinical documentation and communication
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of patient care aligned with NHS and local policies
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team

Dermatology MOPs Classification:

  • Level 1: Curettage & Cautery, Biopsy, Biopsy with IMF
  • Level 2: Excision on body (excluding head and neck) – approx. 16–20 patients/day
  • Level 3: Simple excision with primary closure on head and neck (where appropriately trained)

(Note: Scope of practice will be agreed based on experience, training, and competency.)

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Master’s level or equivalent)
  • Independent Non-Medical Prescriber (V300)
  • Proven experience in Dermatology and/or Skin Cancer services
  • Experience undertaking Dermatology MOPs within agreed competency framework
  • Strong clinical notation, documentation, and communication skills
  • Two professional references

  • NHS Dermatology or Community Diagnostic experience
  • Skin cancer pathway (2WW) experience
  • Surgical competencies signed off within NHS settings
