Design and Estimating Manager

Trinity Fire & Security Systems is seeking a skilled Design and Estimation Manager to join our dedicated Design & Estimating team, delivering high-quality solutions for nationally recognised organisations.

This role is a full-time, permanent position working 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and can be based on a hybrid basis from either our Abingdon or Exeter offices.

What You’ll Be Doing

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Design & Estimating team, ensuring effective workload planning, performance management, capability development, and succession planning.

Operational Performance & Resource Management

  • Manage departmental capacity, workload allocation, and priorities to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and commercially viable design and estimating outputs.

Technical & Commercial Governance

  • Establish, maintain, and monitor standards, processes, and controls to ensure designs, estimates, and proposals are compliant, accurate, and commercially robust.

Bid & Tender Leadership

  • Oversee the preparation and review of major bids and tenders, providing strategic direction and challenge to maximise quality, competitiveness, and win rates.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Project Delivery teams to improve communication, remove barriers, and ensure successful project handover and execution.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Develop and manage KPIs, forecasting, pipeline visibility, and management reporting to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Supply Chain & Commercial Management

  • Build strategic supplier relationships and support procurement activities to improve commercial outcomes, consistency, and supply chain performance.

Continuous Improvement & Business Change

  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, automation, and ways of working, supporting departmental and wider business transformation initiatives.
