Design Architect – London-based Architectural Practice
We are an established architectural practice in London seeking a Design Architect with over 1 year of post-qualification experience to expand our talented team. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals eager to refine their early-stage design skills in a supportive, structured studio environment.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will drive front-end design, gaining exposure to:
- Concept development
- Feasibility studies
- Early-stage client engagement
- A diverse project portfolio spanning residential and commercial workplace development
You’ll collaborate with experienced designers, contributing to well-considered schemes from inception while refining your design voice. The role requires a passion for creativity alongside broad exposure to the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine design concepts for early-stage projects (RIBA stages 0–2)
- Collaborate with clients and team members to align vision and feasibility
- Present ideas clearly through drawings, sketches, and presentations
- Support model development (physical/digital) for spatial exploration
- Contribute to progress reviews and decision-making workshops

Requirements & Skills
Experience
- 1+ years of post-qualification experience as an architect
- Strong background in residential or commercial office projects
- Familiarity with early design phases (RIBA stages 0–2)
Technical Skills
- Confident hand-drawing and digital rendering capabilities
- Revit proficiency (preferred)
- Familiarity with additional design software:
- Rhino
- SketchUp
- Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Personality & Attributes
- Ownership mindset with collaborative and proactive approach
- Strong organisation, adaptability, and ability to take initiative
- Excellent communicator with a supportive, professional demeanour
