Hill McGlynn is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing Interior Design Consultancy Group for a Design Coordinator to join their team in East Malling.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and technically minded individual who enjoys coordinating projects, solving design challenges and working collaboratively to deliver exceptional interior fit-out solutions.

The Role

As a Design Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the design team throughout the project lifecycle. You will coordinate technical information, liaise with internal departments, clients and external consultants, and ensure design documentation is accurate, compliant and delivered to programme.

You'll take ownership of your workload, coordinate project deliverables and help ensure client expectations are met through effective communication and attention to detail.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Design Coordinator or similar technical coordination role.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and outstanding proofreading skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent coordination skills and the ability to take ownership of tasks from inception through to completion.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with internal teams, clients, contractors and consultants.
  • Comfortable challenging design solutions, asking questions and seeking clarification where required.
  • A proactive and persistent approach to obtaining information from multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to distribute workloads effectively to internal teams and coordinate project activities.
  • Passion for problem solving with a flair for design and practical solutions.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality work while meeting client expectations and project deadlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using Common Data Environments (CDEs) or Electronic Document Management (EDM) systems such as Aconex or Asite.
  • Experience or knowledge of interior fit-out projects.
