About The Role

Design and Delivery Senior Technician (Electrical)

  • Working hours: Full time 37 hours per week
  • Permanent
  • Salary: from £42,075 to £49,500 per year (depending on experience)
  • Location: Broken Scar, Darlington

As part of the Integrated Design and Delivery team, the Design & Delivery Senior Technician liaises with capital project stakeholders, Project managers and engineering department to define the best technical and Totex solution to resolve an issue.

After approval by stakeholders, the senior technician/ operative designs, procures and delivers the solution, installing equipment/structures, supervising sub-contractors, commissioning new assets and updating all relevant asset records as per the document requirement list, including budget costs for stakeholder’s review and complying with NWL Engineering Standards.

A key part of the role will be ensuring that safety, quality, and customer service standards are consistently delivered, complying with CDM regulations and NWL SHE procedures (PCI, designer RA, CPP, RAMS, PTW, LOTO).

This role is integral to the team by supporting the coaching, learning and development of colleagues and providing direction on a day-to-day basis. You will arrange training of asset operators and maintenance team where required and arrange commissioning with external suppliers for monitoring installations. You will coordinate and supervise NWL appointed contractors to achieve project outcomes.

You will collect and produce the relevant documents to comply with the agreed Document Requirement List (DRL) including asset information, electrical cable calculations, mechanical designs, OM manuals, electrical test certificates, commission information and handover forms.

About You

If you have engineering experience in different kinds of industrial design and delivery installation projects, we would love to hear from you!

You can maintain and extend a theoretical approach in enabling the introduction and selection of new and advancing technology. You can design and implement new installations with cost and efficiency life cycle taken into consideration. You can identify performance improvement opportunities and present and discuss project proposals.

You will have a recognised Apprenticeship under your belt, as well as extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering drawings and a thorough working knowledge of the current Regulations for Electrical installations, CDM Reg 2015, safe working on chemical systems, safe working at height, safe isolation and lock off and C&G 2391 Initial verification.

You will be Confined Space Competent (fitness level, confined space permit entries, use of escape sets), can manage and apply safe systems of work and can produce and implement risk assessment and method statement procedures.

It would be highly desirable that you have experience installing and commissioning water quality monitors as well as integrating with site PLC's or Scada as part of the commissioning process.

You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and can work within a close team as well as carrying out tasks thoroughly using your own initiative, allocating and managing time and resources effectively. You have the ability to lead and direct others including contractors and can support with training and achieving on-site competency.

A full manual UK Driving license is required for this role.
