Design Director | Retail Interiors

Help shape the next generation of retail and brand experiences.

Up to £80,000

Shoreditch, London | Hybrid (minimum 3 days in the studio)

Tools: Cinema 4D | Vectorworks | SketchUp

The Opportunity

Some studios deliver projects.

Others shape how people experience brands.

This is one of the latter.

Working across retail interiors, product launches, experiential activations and brand environments, the studio partners with globally recognised names across fashion, sport, footwear and technology to create work that pushes beyond what's expected.

They're already producing exceptional work. The opportunity now is to build on that success, bringing even stronger creative leadership as the studio continues to grow.

The Role

This is far more than a traditional Design Director position.

You'll lead the creative direction of flagship retail and brand experience projects, taking ideas from the earliest conversations through to beautifully executed environments. You'll remain hands-on with the studio's most ambitious work while helping shape the creative standards across the wider team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Alongside leading projects, you'll mentor designers, build trusted client relationships and help guide the future direction of a studio that's entering an exciting stage of growth.

As the business continues to expand into broader brand, campaign and launch work, you'll play a key role in connecting ideas across multiple channels, ensuring every experience feels cohesive, commercially smart and creatively ambitious.

What You'll Bring

You'll have significant experience designing retail interiors and branded environments, supported by a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional creative thinking, spatial awareness and attention to detail.

You'll be equally comfortable leading creative conversations, presenting to clients and mentoring designers, bringing the confidence to challenge ideas and elevate the work around you.

You'll also be highly proficient in:

  • Cinema 4D
  • Vectorworks
  • SketchUp

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn't a role where you'll inherit a well-established structure and simply keep it running.

It's an opportunity to help shape what's next.

You'll have genuine influence over the creative output of the studio, contribute to the growth of the team, build long-term client relationships and play an important part in the studio's continued evolution.

  • You enjoy mentoring others and helping creative teams do their best work.
  • You're commercially aware and understand how great creative work builds lasting client relationships.
  • You want to help shape a studio that's ambitious, collaborative and continuing to push the boundaries of retail and brand experience.
