Reporting Line: Design Office Manager
About the Role
This role involves the effective delivery of 2D drawing submissions, Stage Gate documentation, problem-solving, and adapting to tasks as directed by the Design Office Manager or Senior Design Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and submit supporting 2D drawings, including P&IDs and BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Ensure all drawings comply with company and industry processes and standards
- Monitor and uphold the standards of work produced within the department
- Ensure weld details and procedures are accurate and present on company drawings
- Compile job packets, verifying all relevant documentation is complete and correct
- Attend design and project kickoff meetings as required
- Assist the Project Managers and Design Office Manager with Stage Gate 2 documentation
- Manage adherence to company procedures, with special emphasis on health & safety policies
- Maintain and update company procedures and documentation
- Maintain any relevant departmental records as needed
- Effectively update and maintain workflow for drawing submissions and related approvals

Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering/Design knowledge with relevant certification
- Demonstrated personal professional development in the sector
- Technical drawing experience and fluent English (reading/writing)
- Assistance in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Preferred experience working in:
- OEMs or equipment package providers
- UK municipal water sector
- Previous experience producing general arrangement drawings and manufacture-specific drawings with related BOMs
- Strong self-starter with the ability to focus on goals independently
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively across teams and departments
- Proficient in:
- 2D and 3D CAD systems (with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD being preferred)
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Understanding of process safety, technical documentation, and company compliance procedures
