Are you a Design Engineer or CAD Engineer looking to step into a Project Engineering role where you'll work on bespoke engineering projects from concept through to installation? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established engineering business where you'll become a key part of a close-knit team, receive extensive training, and develop into a technical expert with genuine long-term career prospects.

Established over 20 years ago, this growing engineering company delivers bespoke process and handling solutions for major blue-chip manufacturers. You'll work on projects ranging from £10,000 to £2.5 million, gaining exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle while working alongside experienced engineers who will support your progression into a fully-fledged Project Engineer.

Your Role As A Design Engineer Will Include

  • Producing plant layouts, general arrangements and detailed fabrication drawings using SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD 2D
  • Managing engineering projects from sales handover through to installation and final delivery
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams throughout project delivery
  • Preparing Bills of Materials, technical documentation, O&M manuals and job costing updates
  • Assisting with site surveys, equipment selection, supplier inspections and commissioning activities
  • Working on bespoke mechanical systems within an ISO9001 quality environment
  • Receiving ongoing training with the opportunity to progress into Project Management

As A Design Engineer You Will Have

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Experience using SolidWorks 3D (essential)
  • AutoCAD 2D experience or willingness to develop further
  • Background in Mechanical Design, CAD, Draughting or Project Engineering
  • Ability to interpret and produce fabrication and plant layout drawings
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop
