Design Engineer - Steel Fabricated Products

My client is a market leading UK manufacturer of fabricated steel products. Its major customers like its products due to the design and longevity. It is a secure and stable environment where staff stay for the long term.
Due to continued growth and development my client now requires a design engineer to work on re-engineering projects. The role will include projects related to existing product improvement and limited NPD. They will also assist with maintaining the Technical File and ensure regulatory and statutory compliance included CE.

Key Requirements
- Sheet Steel Product Design
- Great project management skills
- Design for manufacture with keen eye for cost savings
- Ensure designs are compliant with relevant standards including CE
- Design of non-standard products for specific projects
- Compile BOMs and verify on the ERP system
- 4 years experience using 3D CAD
- Product re-engineering
- Steel and Stainless Steel light fabrication knowledge
- Project management tools
- Team player with a can do attitude
Experience
Ideally the perfect candidate will be a 3D CAD user with previous experience sheet/ tubular steel products and "re-engineering project" experience. They will be used to working with production engineering to get designs prototyped and scoped ready for production including technical files, testing, BOMs, change documentation

- £52000 to £55000+ pa basic salary
