Design Engineer
Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Staffordshire
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience)
Client Overview
Our client is a growing engineering manufacturer specialising in bespoke fabricated steel solutions for major UK manufacturers. Design is a key strategic function within the business, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and engineering excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Design fabricated steel products and welded assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Produce full production-ready drawings, including weldments and assemblies.
- Improve design processes through standardisation, automation, and parametric methods.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability and reduce shop-floor issues.
- Engage directly with customers to clarify technical requirements and deliver effective solutions.

Skills Required
- Strong SolidWorks experience, including weldments and assemblies.
- Background in fabricated mild steel structures and Design for Manufacture (DfM).
- Experience implementing process improvements and engineering best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a systems-thinking approach.
