Join Airbus in Belfast as a Design Engineer and play a crucial role in developing and validating innovative solutions for complex aerospace challenges. Working within a dynamic, multifunctional team, you will pioneer the use of advanced metallic and fiber metal laminate technologies to shape the next generation of aircraft. From shaping conceptual layouts to finalizing production detail designs and directly supporting the manufacturing build, you will be at the very heart of our engineering excellence.

How You Will Contribute to the Team

  • Ensure that designs comply with the various certification requirements.
  • Interface with in-house departments regarding manufacturing and allied problems.
  • Advise and assist on repairs to in-service aircraft or components.
  • Prepare engineering change and modification proposals.
  • Provide engineering disposition for manufacturing defects.
  • Assist in project design decisions internally and advise on behalf of the Company within standard guidelines.
  • Participate in trade studies and deliver outputs to appropriate quality and timescales.

The Profile We Are Looking For

  • Possess a minimum of an HNC in an engineering-related subject and have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant design engineering experience.
  • Be articulate and able to communicate information clearly and concisely.
  • Be able to work as part of a team both at Site and Group level.
  • Knowledge and experience of metallic and composite structures.
  • Knowledge and experience of design toolsets - specifically CATIA V5.
  • IT skills associated with engineering activities.

Desirable

  • A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Experience in supporting concessions.
  • Wing structure knowledge.
