Design Engineer | AI Intelligence Platform, Financial Services | Up to £80,000 | Hybrid, Central London

We're hiring the first Design Engineer for a fast-growing AI intelligence platform that benchmarks how the world's largest banks and insurers are adopting AI. Since launching its flagship index in January 2023, it's become the global standard for AI maturity in financial services, working with dozens of the world's biggest banks.

This is a genuinely brand new role that bridges the gap between the Design and Engineering teams. You'll sit inside their pod, but you're the person who actually understands both sides of the fence; turning design intent into production code without waiting on a handoff queue. You'll own the design system and the consistency of every dashboard, tracker and client-facing surface as the product suite expands into new verticals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll do:

  • Ship production UI in React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, Radix and CVA
  • Own the design system end to end, in both Figma and code
  • Build usable interfaces for genuinely complex, data-dense products
  • Work directly with the VP of Engineering, senior designer and full-stack engineers, with real autonomy over platform UI

What we're looking for:

  • Strong hands-on React / Next.js / TypeScript experience
  • A track record building or contributing to a design system
  • Real UI/UX judgement, not just Figma fluency, but backed by evidence and instinct
  • Comfortable with dense data interfaces: tables, charts, comparison views, filtering
  • A collaborative operator, not a siloed one, genuinely happy in the office 3 days a week

Nice to have: deeper Figma skills, data/analytics platform projects worked on, familiarity with a modern component-driven stack.

Why this one's worth a look:

This company has never made this hire before, so you're not slotting into someone else's playbook, you're defining it. It's a real product problem from week one, not a backlog of tickets. This organisation truly value people and are absolutely adamant on culture-first hiring.
