The company contracts the manufacture of their components worldwide and performs quality control, warehousing, assembly, and dispatch on site in Oxfordshire.

The Role
Design Engineer
Permanent
Location – Chalgrove, Oxfordshire
This role is based full-time onsite.
Main purpose of the job
This role within the engineering team is responsible for the design, testing and roll out of new products within the space of additive manufacturing hardware. This will cover the whole new product development cycle, from coming up with concepts, detailed design work, DFMEA, prototyping, testing and ultimately helping scale up for volume production working with the quality, production and marketing teams.

Who you are responsible to:
This role reports to Principal Design Engineer
Main tasks of the job
- Carry out detailed design work including 3D modelling, simulation (e.g. thermal & stress) and design verification testing, as required.
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of the technical aspects of development projects under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Creation and approval of technical reports and documentation as required.
- Be the day-to-day point of contact between engineering and other departments for development projects.
- Ensure design files and information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Keep up to date with the latest manufacturing techniques and drawing standards.
- Work closely with operations, manufacturing and production engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacture and assembly.

Essential skills and experience
- Engineering Degree or equivalent knowledge
- Proficiency with CAD, ideally SolidWorks
- Experience with FDM 3D printing
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience in a prototyping workshop, making / modifying prototypes and test jigs.
- Experience with 3D printer firmware such as Klipper or Marlin.
- Experience of product development
- Project Management
- Experience collaborating with other departments such as; production, quality, purchasing and marketing.
