Application Design Engineer – MV / HV Power Distribution
Location: Leeds (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,000+ Flexitime + Permanent Benefits + OT + Retention Bonus
An opportunity has opened for a Design Engineer to join a global electrical manufacturer specialising in medium & high voltage power distribution equipment. The position sits within the engineering solutions team supporting the technical development of projects across substations, switchgear & protection systems.

This role is well suited to engineers with experience in HV design, protection & control, commissioning or tender engineering who are looking to transition into an environment working on equipment applications rather than purely site-based work.
The Role
- Develop technical solutions for MV/HV power distribution systems
- Support tendering teams with engineering input during bid stages
- Produce technical documentation including single line diagrams, equipment configuration & technical specifications
- Provide application engineering support for switchgear, protection relays & substation equipment
- Liaise with customers, project teams & internal engineering functions
- Ensure solutions comply with industry standards & client specifications
