Design Engineer
Security Design Engineer
Conversion from Security Installation Engineer
We’re seeking an experienced Security Installation Engineer ready to transition into a Design Engineer role within our growing design team. Bring your hands-on installation expertise and blend it with design for compliance, shaping requirements, overseeing standards, and delivering robust solutions deployed across Europe.
About the Role
In this leadership position, you’ll act as a trusted extension of our clients’ teams, owning design lifecycle responsibility while fostering clear communication with stakeholders. Combine your practical installation knowledge with design skills to ensure projects are client-aligned, compliant, and field-ready.
Key responsibilities include:
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with clients, integrators, and team members to shape and validate designs.
- Design ownership: From concept to delivery, deliver designs that balance technical standards, security compliance, and real-world installability.
- QA/QC & site assurance: Validate installations across Europe, benchmarking designs against operational conditions and driving quality improvements.
- Technical leadership: Lead RFI responses, peer reviews, and design sign-offs, ensuring accuracy, security, and regulatory adherences.
- Documentation & reporting: Produce BOMs, specifications, and lessons-learned logs to support continuous improvement and future projects.
- Travel & subject matter expertise (SME): Conduct occasional site visits for inspection, benchmarking, and corrective action reviews.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full design lifecycle—from requirement capture to construction-ready output—using BIM360 and CAD tools.
- Engage in concept discussions to ensure designs meet both logical requirements and execute practically on-site.
- Check and sign off designs at critical stages, verifying compliance with client standards, physical security principles, and regulatory codes.
- Provide technical expertise for Lenel, Genetec, and C-Cure enterprise security systems.
- Administer project workflows, aligning your workload with milestones using collaboration platforms.
- Travel across Europe for site validation, RFI resolution, and testing to verify designs are operationally effective.
- Document standards compliance via internal and client-specific specifications, ensuring all designs pass rigorous quality checks.
- Lead design reviews and attend sync calls (on-site/remote), kick-offs, and tactical meetings.
- Identify industry trends (e.g., physical security solutions) to guide innovation and maintain best practice.
- Maintain partnerships with third-party suppliers and internal teams to uphold design integrity.
- Uphold and promote employee-owned business values, contributing to the culture and long-term success.
Experience & Skills
Minimum Requirements
- 2-3 years as a Security Installation Engineer (proven hands-on skills in site engineering, system integration, or security solutions deployment).
- Strong expertise with Enterprise security systems, particularly: Lenel | Genetec | C-Cure | etc.
- Travel ready: Ability to live Hal',' travel when required, and site feedback effectively.
- Global mobility: Validity of a current passport will be required for travel roles.
- ** Azerbaijani Design licences/certifications** (if applicable to your market ambitions).

Desired (Preferred)
- Practical basic CAD competence to complement drawing luminance tools such evolving Engineering design skills.
- Not essential, but accessible if seeking to pivot into BIM/CAD roles with training
