Description

We are searching for talented Design Engineers across a range of experience levels to join our Aston Martin Performance Technologies Team on either a Fixed-Term or Permanent basis.

Established in 2022, Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT) is a fast-growing business within the Aston Martin Racing Performance Group. Our vision is to apply Formula One™ knowledge and technical expertise to deliver high-performance engineering solutions beyond the world of Formula One™.

From delivering advanced automotive composite Body in White programmes to leading global motorsport projects, AMPT has quickly established itself as a trusted engineering partner across a diverse range of industries. As our portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for talented Design Engineers at all experience levels to help shape the next generation of innovative engineering solutions.

As a Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in transforming ideas into reality, developing high-performance components and assemblies from concept through to manufacture, testing, and continuous development. Working within a collaborative team of world-class engineers, you'll contribute to technically challenging projects where creativity, innovation, and engineering excellence drive everything we do.

Based at our state-of-the-art Technology Campus in Silverstone, you'll have the opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering, solving complex technical challenges in an environment designed to encourage collaboration, continuous learning, and innovative thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate innovative design concepts to improve car performance
  • Develop components and assemblies from concept through to detailed design and manufacture
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of design concepts
  • Define component and assembly test specifications
  • Support projects throughout assembly, testing, and development activities
  • Develop practical engineering solutions to resolve testing, development, and reliability issues
  • Produce, review, and maintain detailed engineering drawings to support component manufacture
  • Manage technical issues through to successful resolution, escalating where appropriate
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers across the business to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Attend and actively contribute to technical and project meetings
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge, engineering capability, and industry best practice
  • Produce surface models and laminate specification booklets where required
  • Work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times

For more experienced engineers, there will be opportunities to lead technical projects, mentor colleagues, and oversee design activities across multiple programmes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

  • Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Motorsport Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong engineering design capability, ideally gained within Formula One™, top-level motorsport, automotive, aerospace, or another high-performance engineering environment
  • Experience designing components and assemblies from concept through to manufacture
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, testing, and development
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Project, and Power BI
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to solve complex engineering problems using a practical and analytical approach
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver to demanding timescales
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety
