Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.

The Project Engineer leads the design of projects (typically up to £25m) or supports a Senior Project Engineer or Design Manager on more complex projects. The Project Engineer ensures that designs meet project requirements while achieving value for money, managing the interface with external design consultants to ensure the process is managed effectively, maintaining progress against an agreed schedule, and carefully managing design costs.

The role works closely with the Construction Management Team to ensure that projects are delivered on site in line with the approved design.

You’ll Be Responsible For

Managing effective design management across projects. Defining scope supporting robust business cases. Briefing and managing external design consultants. Delivering safe, efficient, compliant design solutions. Assuring coordinated, high-quality design outputs. Managing asset information and design change. Supporting statutory, CDM and stakeholder duties. Enabling commissioning, handover and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
