Our client is a globally recognised manufacturer of heavy engineering equipment with an excellent reputation for innovation, product quality, and continuous investment in new technologies. Due to continued growth and strong market demand, they are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join their engineering team based in County Tyrone.
Your new role
As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of new products and the ongoing improvement of existing machinery. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you will be responsible for producing detailed 3D designs, manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials while ensuring products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Creating detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
- Developing innovative design solutions for new and existing products.
- Supporting root cause investigations and engineering improvements.
- Working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and service teams.
- Ensuring designs meet engineering standards and customer requirements.
- Driving product optimisation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supporting prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar.
- Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience producing manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A proactive and innovative approach to engineering design.
Experience within heavy equipment, mobile machinery, materials processing, crushing, screening, or manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.
