Design Engineer (UK Wireless Next Gen Networks) – Fully Remote

£45,000 – £55,000 + Remote Working Stipend + Training + Progression + Company Benefits Location: HQ (Irvine), Fully Remote


About the Role

Are you an Design Engineer from the telecoms sector, excited to work on a long-term, UK government-backed project focused on expanding cellular networks to the UK’s most remote areas? The opportunity exists to join a well-established design team shaping the future of telecoms—fully remotely, with strong career progression and training support.

This position is with one of the UK’s leading telecoms infrastructure providers, a key innovator in emergency networks, connecting security forces, disaster relief, and critical emergency services. Key Responsibilities

  • Create AutoCAD 2D/3D designs for Cellnex networks
  • Engage in latest cellular projects, ensuring designs meet evolving standards
  • Operate collaboratively to meet project delivery deadlines, balancing technical precision with efficiency
  • Work as part of a senior design team on cutting-edge remote network infrastructure

Requirements & Fit

Technical Skills & Experience

✅ AutoCAD mastery (2D and 3D experience critical) ✅ Proven expertise in telecoms infrastructure design, including Cellnex network involvement (advantageous) ✅ In-depth knowledge of 5G/4G network design principles and urban/rural site placement challenges

Soft Skills

✅ Adaptability to remote working structures (self-discipline, proactive communication) ✅ Passion for collaborative problem-solving and respectful cross-functional teamwork ✅ Eagerness to progress and upskill within the company’s design-infrastructure domains
