Design Manager
Cumbria | Major Infrastructure | Highly Regulated Environment | Up to £70,000 + Package
A leading international contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join a major infrastructure project based in Cumbria within a highly regulated environment.
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong civil engineering background who has managed multidisciplinary design teams on complex infrastructure projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage the design function throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
- Manage design programmes, deliverables, and technical approvals.
- Chair design reviews and interface meetings.
- Ensure designs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage design changes, technical queries, and document control.
- Work closely with construction, commercial, and client teams to support successful project delivery.

Requirements
- Strong civil engineering background within major infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Engineer.
- Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, design management, and engineering processes.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment is desirable.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is advantageous.
